Sunny Deol’s actioner Jaat has managed to collect just over Rs 16.50 crore in two days at the box-office, as per Sacnilk. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film also stars Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and Swarupa Ghosh in pivotal roles.
The film opened at the box-office on Thursday, making Rs 9.5 crore. The number declined further on Friday, collecting just over Rs 7 crore. On Friday, it had an occupancy of 11.19 % with the night shows bringing more audiences at 17.46 % occupancy.
This comes after Sunny’s last film, Gadar 2 had created havoc at the box-office, as it opened at Rs 40.1 crore. Its lifetime collection stands at Rs 525.7 crore.
It is produced jointly by two prominent production houses in Telugu—Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers and TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory.
CE’s review of the film reads, “Jaat adds to the list of mass-misfires Hindi film industry seems to be churning out every other week. These conveyor-belt products lack any personality or conviction. Films can either be biryanis or idlis, made with passion and precision. It’s a warning bell when they are being reduced to fast food, assembled with indifference. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth.”
