The first look from Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming film Costao was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Written by Bhavesh Mandalia and Meghna Srivastava and directed by Sejal Shah (producer of Nawazuddin's The Serious Men), the film is inspired by the true story of Costao Fernandes. It also stars Priya Bapat and Kishore Kumar Huli in pivotal roles.

The makers shared four stills from the film, featuring actors Nawazuddin, Priya and Kishore. In the first photo, Nawazuddin has fallen down in the middle of a crowd. It is subtitled as, “Bravery comes at a cost.” In the second one, Nawazuddin seems to have met with an accident and the poster reads, “Courage comes at a cost.” In the third one, Priya is on a phone call, giving a stern look as the poster reads, “Family comes at a cost”. In the fourth one, Nawazuddin is sitting looking ahead with his hands folded. The poster reads, “Honesty comes at a cost.” In the fifth one, Kishore dons an intense look as the poster reads, “Enmity comes at a cost.”

In the final poster, Nawazuddin is seen wearing the white navy uniform aboard a ship. Sharing the photo, the makers wrote in caption, “A hero with no cape - just a white uniform, unshakable courage, and the will to stand for what is right. This is Costao‘s extraordinary story.”

Costao Fernandes is a retired customs officer from Goa who has handled some high-profile gold smuggling cases in his career. In 1991, Costao had chased and fought the Alemao brothers of Goa in a gold smuggling case. The incident had led to the death of Alvernaz Alemao, the brother of former Goa Chief Minister Churchill Alemao.

The film is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Bhavesh, Sejal, Shyam Sunder and Faizuddin Siddiqui. It will be released soon on ZEE5.
