

Sohum Shah’s horror-drama Tumbbad has managed to earn approximately Rs 9 crore in four days of its re-release in theatres, according to Sacnilk.com. When it released in 2018, the film earned Rs 13.5 crore. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve with Anand Gandhi serving as the creative director, Tumbbad also starred Jyoti Malshe, Rudra Soni, Madhav Hari, Anita Date-Kelkar and Ronjini Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
The film performed well in its opening weekend, making over Rs 7.25 crore net, which is way more than its original run of Rs 3.25 crore in the opening weekend. On its fourth day, the film minted Rs 1.75 crore, which marked a 40 percent drop from Monday and a spike of 10 percent as compared to Friday.
When it released back in 2018, Tumbbad was declared as a box-office flop even after garnering critical acclaim for its stunning visuals, storyline and performances.
Its sequel was announced recently by Sohum who has produced it with Anand L Rai, Anand Gandhi, Mukesh Shah and Amita Shah.
