Arun Govil plays Dashrath in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, co-star Indira Krishnan reveals film’s shoot is complete

Arun Govil plays the role of Rama’s father, Dashrath, in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, revealed actor Indira Krishnan, who plays Kaushalya, the mother of Ram in the film. She also shared that TV actor Ravi Dubey essays the role of Lakshman in the Nitesh Tiwari directorial.

In an interview with Join Films on YouTube, Indira said, “I am doing a film called Ramayana, the shooting is complete, and I am playing Kaushalya with Ranbir (as Lord Ram). Ravi Dubey is in that, and he is playing Lakshman.”

Arun Govil is popularly known for playing the role of Rama in the TV series on the mythological epic. Indira shared, “He actually looks like Dashrath, just like he looked like Rama back in the day. When we were shooting, he would talk about the time when they made Ramayana.”

Earlier, Yash confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India that he will play the role of Ravana in the film. It also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita. More details about the project are awaited.
