Love, Sitara director Vandana Kataria, recently spoke about the similarities between her film and other family-dramas like Two States (2014) and Kapoor & Sons (2016). She stated that the Sobhita Dhulipala starrer is unlike those two films but viewers are free to draw similarities.

"The only parallel between this movie and Two States is that the protagonists are a South Indian and a North Indian. Aside from that, there's nothing similar,” she said.

“People are also comparing it to Kapoor & Sons because of its complex family dynamics. However, our story takes a matriarchal route, featuring three generations of women. I encourage viewers to watch the film and decide for themselves whether they see those connections. What I can say is that we explore themes of family and love, which are present in many films, but in this one, there’s also a lot of humor,” she added.

Love, Sitara follows the journey of Sitara (Sobhita), an interior designer, and Arjun (Rajeev Siddhartha), a chef, as they navigate the complexities of love and personal hardships. Determined to strengthen their bond before marriage, the couple travels to Sitara's hometown to connect with her family and, in turn, with each other’s backgrounds. As they face various challenges, including cultural differences and family dynamics, their trip reveals the importance of communication and understanding in building a lasting relationship.

The film is currently streaming on ZEE5.
