Amitabh Bachchan wrote an emotional note on Abhishek Bachchan after watching his film I Want To Talk, praising his performance in the film. At the same time, the veteran actor seemed to be addressing recent rumors that were circulating online about Abhishek’s relationship with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Writing about the film, Amitabh wrote, “Some films invite you to be entertained, some films invite you to be the film. I Want To Talk just does that. It invites you to be the film. It picks you up gently from your seat in the theatre and places you, equally gently, inside the screen it is being projected upon and you watch its life floating by. No effort or chance of wanting to escape from it into escapism and Abhishek, you are not Abhishek. You are Arjun Sen (the character played by Abhishek in the film).”
Further, Amitabh quoted his father, iconic poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and translated his Hindi couplet, writing, “Let them say what they say, but this is what I say. And I am in remembrance of my poojya Babuji’s words: the good did think of me to be good; the bad did think of me to be bad. They recognized me according to their own need.”
He added, “It was your need to write falsehood about me. It was your need to write the goodness in me and that need was the value of how much you recognized me and not know me.”
While he didn’t make any direct comments, but he seemed to be writing about the rumours which are being spread on Abhishek’s personal life. He ended the note with, “All must understand well for whom this is written.”
I Want To Talk is directed by Shoojit Sircar and released in theatres on November 22.
