The trailer of Pratik Gandhi and Divyenndu’s upcoming film Agni was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Written and helmed by Raees (2017) director Rahul Dholakia, the film also stars Sai Tamhankar, Saiyami Kher, Jitendra Joshi, Udit Arora and Kabir Shah in pivotal roles.
The trailer of the film introduces the character of Pratik as a firefighter working in Mumbai. His brother-in-law is a cop, played by Divyenndu, with whom he shares a conflicted relationship. A series of fire incidents across the city brings the two at loggerheads with each other. Saiyami and Jitendra play firefighters as well investigating the fire incidents. The trailer is filled with some hard-hitting dialogues, emotional moments and dramatic sequences.
Speaking about the film, director Rahul said in a statement, "With Agni, I am thrilled to bring a story to life that not only celebrates the bravery of our firefighters but also delves into their emotional journeys. Firefighters are real-life heroes who go beyond battling fires—they rescue lives, respond to disasters, and take on countless high-risk challenges with unwavering dedication. This story is a tribute to their sacrifice, loyalty, and resilience, and I hope it inspires audiences to recognize and appreciate these selfless protectors in our society.”
Pratik said in the press release, “Agni is not just a film; it’s a tribute to the courage of firefighters—the unsung heroes of our society. Delving into the emotional and physical challenges faced by these brave souls has been a transformative experience for me as an actor. It’s an honor to portray a character that reflects such resilience and dedication."
Divyenndu added in his statement, “The film represents more than just an engaging story, but is something meaningful for me to be a part of. I consider this as a significant shift in my career as I take on a character to showcase a hero’s personal sacrifices, beyond just their uniforms. It has enabled me to explore new depths of my craft that are raw and emotional."
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, Agni is shot by acclaimed cinematographer KU Mohanan. It is set to be released on Prime Video on December 6.
