The song ‘Ghar Aa Maahi’ from Anand Tiwari’s web-series Bandish Bandits was unveiled by the makers on Friday. It is composed by Ana Rehman, it is sung by Nikhita Gandhi and digV with lyrics by Shubham Shirule. The series stars Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, Sheeba Chadha, Divya Dutta, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang and Kunaal Roy Kapur in pivotal roles.
The music video begins with Ritwik seating in a beautifully lit set as he holds the tanpura and sings. Just then, he senses someone’s presence and Shreya enters the frame and the song shifts from semi-classical to rock. Shreya is seen dancing to the tunes over electrifying vocals by Nikhita as the lyrics point towards the feeling of love and longing. The song has an even blend of Hindustani music and pop music. It is filmed across multiple locations.
Bandish Bandits is written by director-creator Anand Tiwari himself, along with Atmika Didwania and Karan Singh Tyagi. It is produced by Leo Media Collective Private Limited and co-produced by Dimple Mathias. It is set to release on Prime Video on December 13.
The first season of the series released on Prime Video in 2020. It tells the story of two individuals, Radhe (Ritwik) and Tamanna (Shreya), hailing from different musical backgrounds who eventually fall in love. The show explores the clash between Hindustani classical music and pop-music.
