Taapsee Pannu will be performing her own stunts in the upcoming action-thriller Gandhari. The film marks her sixth collaboration with writer-producer Kanika Dhillon and tells the story of a mother who takes a brutal fight to save her abducted child.

According to a source, “Taapsee will not be using a body double for her upcoming film Gandhari and she will be doing her own stunts for action scenes, where she will be seen playing a mother for the first time. Her role is based on a determined mother who is on a mission, and you will also see her bond with her child. She is focusing on her agility to keep her character and fight scenes more real and raw.”

The film is being helmed by acclaimed director Devashish Makhija, who is best known for directing films like Joram and Bhonsle. The makers had earlier shared an announcement video for the film. In the clip, Taapsee’s voiceover states in Hindi, “They say a mother’s blessing is always with you, but when it comes to her child, she becomes Goddess Kali.”

It is tentatively scheduled to be released on Netflix next year.
