The teaser for Zero Se Restart, a film about the making of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey in the lead, released last year to glorious reviews and turned out to be a box-office success.
The teaser opens on black screen as the voice of Vidhu guides viewers to think about their first dream. In a dramatic voice, he gives examples of how when thinking of that dream, people have a purest idea about the profession. The teaser then shifts to showing the climactic moment of 12th Fail, where Manoj Kumar (Vikrant) finds out that he has cracked UPSC.
Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote in the caption, “Each one of us has a ‘zero’ moment - a point where we truly began, filled with innocence and pure ambition. Let’s all head back and reconnect with our purest selves. Join us on this journey with, Zero Se Restart.”
12th Fail is based on a true story and draws from the struggles of the millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. Besides Vikrant, the film also stars Medha Shankr, Harish Khanna, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Anant Joshi, among others. It is based on Anurag Pathak's novel of the same name, about the journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi.
Zero Se Restart is directed by Jaskunwar Singh Kohli and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It will be released in theatres on December 13.
