Abhay Verma on playing lead in Munjya: ‘It is one-of-a-kind cinematic experience’

Actor Abhay Verma, who was last seen in the role of the love interest of Sara Ali Khan’s character in the OTT film Ae Watan Mere Watan (2024), will be in the lead role in the theatrical horror-comedy Munjya opposite Sharvari.

Sharing his excitement on being part of the project, the actor said, "Creating something which has never been done before is always something I have been inclined towards. Munjya is a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience which has unexpected twists and a heavy dose of humour. Leading a love story like such feels like a dream coming to life."

Before Munjya, the actor has been part of projects like The Family Man and Safed (2023).

Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock films, Munjya is helmed by Marathi director Aditya Sarpotdar (Zombivli, 2022). The film also stars Mona Singh and S. Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. It is written by Yogesh Chandekar with additional screenplay and dialogue by Niren Bhatt. Its music has been given by Sachin- Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It will be released in theatres on June 7.
