Savi Trailer: Divya Khossla, Anil Kapoor plan a prison break in this thriller

The trailer of Divya Khossla and Anil Kapoor’s Savi was released by the makers on Tuesday. It is directed by Abhinay Deo, who has earlier helmed films like Blackmail (2018), Delhi Belly (2011) and Force 2 (2016). Savi also stars Harshvardhan Rane in a pivotal role.

The trailer introduces the core conflict of the film where Divya plays a housewife Savi, who is put into action when her husband, played by Harshvardhan, is jailed for a murder he didn’t commit. Anil’s character helps her in the conquest to break into prison and rescue her husband from death threats emerging in the prison. The film is said to be a modern retelling of the folk tale of princess Sati Savitri and prince Satyavan.

Speaking about the film at the trailer launch, producer Mukesh Bhatt said, “The film will shock you. Not in a disturbing way, but in an elevating manner. At Vishesh Films, we don’t back big films; we back big ideas. Savi is one such idea.”

Savi is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film’s music has been composed by Vishal Mishra, Javed-Mohsin, Piyush Shankar and Arkadeep Karmakar. It notably features the last song sung by the late KK, who passed away last year. The film will be released in theatres on May 31.
