Director Anurag Kashyap is gearing up for his next thriller which will boast an ensemble of Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George and Saba Azad, among others.
As per a report in PeepingMoon, the untitled film will be produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and is written by Sudip Sharma, the writer of NH10 (2015) and the creator of Pataal Lok (2020) and Kohrra (2023), along with Abhishek Banerjee, who wrote Anushka Sharma starrer horror-thriller Pari (2018).
As per the report, the plot details of the movie are under wraps but it's believed to be a thriller based on a sensitive true event. The film went on floors on May 14 and will primarily be shot in Mumbai until June 2024, aiming for a theatrical release sometime later this year.
Anurag confirmed the news by sharing a news article of it on his Instagram stories. “Well it also has Jeetendra Joshi, Riddhi Sen, Sapna Pabbi, Ankush Gedambe, Nagesh Bhonsle, Jaimini Pathak, Ghanshyam Garg and lots more,” he wrote.
The film will mark the second collaboration between Sanya and Bobby, who worked together in the 2022 thriller Love Hostel, which also starred Vikrant Massey.
Anurag’s last directorial was The Rahul Bhat starrer Kennedy, which was screened at festivals but is still awaiting release in India. Bobby was praised for his performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, while Sanya was last seen in the Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur. Joju George is a prominent Malayalam cinema actor recently seen in the 2023 film Antony.
