Earlier, we had reported that the trailer for Chandu Champion, headlined by Kartik Aaryan and directed by Kabir Khan, would be out today. As promised by the makers, the trailer is here, and it gives a fair idea of the film about an Indian Army officer who recovers from a coma after getting hit on the battlefields in the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War and takes up boxing. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Kartik wrote, "My career’s toughest and most special film, that too from my hometown Gwalior where I dreamt of becoming an actor," while describing it as "the story of a man who refused to surrender."

The film is inspired by the real-life story of freestyle swimmer Murlikant Petkar, who was a Jawan of the Craftsman rank in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers in the Indian Army and won the country's first Paralympic gold. Judging by the description of the trailer on YouTube and the caption of the Instagram post, Kartik plays Murlikant Petkar in the film. It is written by Kabir himself, Sumit Arora, and Sudipto Sarkar.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan, and Firuzi Khan, Chandu Champion also stars Vijay Raaz in the role of Petkar's boxing coach and Rajpal Yadav. It has cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee, music by Pritam, editing by Nitin Baid, and production design by Rajnish Hedao.

Chandu Champion will release on June 14 this year.
