Rashmika Mandanna has joined Salman Khan’s Sikandar, the makers announced on Thursday. The film will mark their first collaboration together. Directed by AR Murugadoss, who is known for making Ghajini (2008) and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), Sikandar is set to be released on Eid next year. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
The makers took to X to make the announcement and they wrote in the caption, “Welcoming the fabulous @iamRashmika to star opposite @BeingSalmanKhan in #Sikandar! Can't wait for their on-screen magic to unfold on EID 2025! #SajidNadiadwala's #Sikandar Directed by @ARMurugadoss. Releasing in cinemas EID 2025.”
Earlier, it was announced that music director Pritam has joined the project.
Rashmika was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Sikandar marks the first-time director AR Murugadoss and actor Salman are collaborating on a film. Salman’s 2014 film Jai Ho was written by Murugadoss and was based on his 2006 Telugu film Stalin. Salman was last seen in Tiger 3 directed by Maneesh Sharma.
