Richa Chadha says,"The tears are real," as she shares BTS video of her song from Heeramandi
Richa Chadha took to Instagram on Monday to share some behind-the-scenes (BTS) moments from the making of her song ‘Masoom Dil Hai Mera’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. She said that her tears were real while she was shooting for the dance sequence. She plays the character of Lajjo in the series which also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Taha Shah, Fardeen Khan, and Shekhar Suman in pivotal roles.
In the video, Richa is seen getting ready for her shot, wearing the dress and putting on make up and jewellery. She wrote a long caption sharing her experience and said, “Wanna see what all goes into making a memorable character dancing her swan song with a master - The SLB? 2 hours of hair and makeup. Got to work with @tanujadabirmakeup and @ashisbogi for #masoomdilhaimera ! Then the heavy, oh so heavy Anarkali by @rimpleandharpreet #lajjoheeramandi.”
Along with that, the video also features her posing with a dog towards the end. She added in the caption, “The cute doggies on set were the best stress busters. You see here me cuddling with the best baby puppers on a break, and our set favourite Bagheera taking a lap ride with Ashis! Some mirror practice of the bhaav, walking to our beautiful set, gearing up for the challenge!”

In the end, she is seen with tears in her eyes, which she recollected and wrote, “The tears are real. So you see Tanuja removing the remains of running mascara from under my eyes. Tell me what did you think of that last shot of Lajjo dancing. Be honest, did it make you cry?”
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is a series set pre-independent India against the backdrop of the freedom movement and tells the story of courtesans, nawabs and the British and the tussle for power amongst them. It premiered on Netflix on May 1, earlier this month.
