Juhi Shergill is a journo who takes challenges head on: Sanjeeta Bhattacharya on her Broken News S2 role

Grammy nominated singer turned actress Sanjeeta Bhattacharya's joins the cast of Broken News Season 2, whose character plays a serious journalist.

Makers say her character stands out from the rest of her roles as "she assumes a pivotal and serious stance in the storyline of the Season 2".

The highly anticipated season is set to premieres today (May 3).

On her experience working with seasoned actors like Jaideep Ahlawat, Sonali Bendre and Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sanjeeta says, "An absolute delight! Shriya Pilgaonkar and I bonded during season 1 almost as soon as we met. Our mutual love for travel, food and music kept us coming back to each other. I’ve found a lifelong friend in her. Taaruk Raina and I know each other since I was in 8th grade! He is my school senior and we sang in the school band together. It’s great to have friends to lean on while shooting. This project is very special to me because of the people involved ..... ."

Divulging on her role Juhi Shergill, Sanjeeta explains, " Juhi is all matured and is now responsible not only for reporting news but also the stories that are to be reported. She is seen in a new avatar of someone who takes on new challenges head on, is now a senior reporter and news reader."

Newsroom thriller series Broken News has returned for Season 2. This season revolves around Ameena (Sonali Bendre) fighting it out alone in pursuit of truth with the absence of Radha (Shriya Pilgoankar). Radha, on the other hand, looks to bounce back after coming out on bail and take on sensationalist reporter Dipankar Sanyal (Jaideep Ahlawat) even in unorthodox methods, as he was instrumental in sending her to prison.
