Teaser of Vikrant Massey-starrer The Sabarmati Report out

The teaser of Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna starrer The Sabarmati Report was released on Thursday. Directed by Ranjan Chandel (Bamfaad, 2020; Grahan, 2021), the film also stars Ridhi Dogra.

The teaser shows Massey and Khanna as two journalists who are investigating the 2002 incident in Gujarat where a mob allegedly set fire to several bogies of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra. Massey plays a Hindi-speaker reporter from the roots, trying to uncover the mystery behind the incident. In a revelatory moment, Khanna and Massey inspect the burnt bogies and Khanna says, “This was no accident. Somebody had put the train on fire.” The teaser ends with Massey in front of a court judge, taking pride in being a Hindi reporter. “When we reclaim Hindi, only then will India become Bharat.”

The Sabarmati Report is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan. It will be released in theatres on May 3.
