Shah Rukh Khan criticised for 'racist' remark against Ram Charan; RRR actor's makeup artist states she 'walked out' after incident

Shah Rukh Khan is receiving flak over "racist" comments against actor Ram Charan at an event during Anant Ambani's pre-wedding festivities. Ram's makeup artist Zeba Hassan also took to her Instagram stories to express her disappointment. She also stated that she "walked out" after the incident.

The incident occurred when the three Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir) were on stage, struggling with the steps of 'Naatu Naatu', a song from the film RRR which starred Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. In a video shared by Zeba, SRK is calling out to Ram to help them with the steps, but his choice of words is what stirred controversy."Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu???”, Shah Rukh is heard saying.

"I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like @alwaysramcharan," Zeba wrote while sharing the video.

Zeba also wrote a note and stated that South Indian stars artists are not given the respect that they deserve. "It’s funny how everyone wants to pay us ‘lesser’ because we’re from South India whereas they’re okay to pay triple the amount for the same thing to an artist if that artist is Delhi or Mumbai based,” she added.

The controversial video is also making the rounds on social media where several netizens are calling out SRK for his comments. While sharing the video, one such user wrote, "Shah Rukh Khan being casually racist to Ram Charan who is South Indian by calling him idli. I wonder if his so called well educated and sophisticated fanbase will condemn it."

Shah Rukh's biggest hit last year was Jawan, directed by Tamil director Atlee.
