Gulshan Devaiah opened up recently about how Ranveer Singh would sit in a corner and cry after doing emotional scenes in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013). Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and with Ranveer and Deepika in the lead, the film also starred Gulshan in a pivotal role.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel, Gulshan reflected on how Ranveer Singh carries a certain energy along with him. He said, “He has always been like this, extremely energetic. You can call it attention seeking but some people have that thing. He projects himself like a movie star that’s because he believes he is a movie star.”

He also revealed that he had to distance himself from Ranveer on the sets of Ram-Leela as he operates on a different wavelength. “Sometimes, I would walk in a corner after doing a take with him because he is so energetic. His energy is so much that sometimes it is not sustainable for someone to match that. You get affected by it. Sometimes you don’t want to deal with it. Sometimes you want peace,” Gulshan said.

He further shared how doing the emotional scenes would affect Ranveer. “On the sets of Ram-Leela, sometimes after doing an emotional scene, he would sit in a corner and cry. Now you can look at it as attention seeking, maybe it was. But maybe there is some truth to it also. Maybe he is unable to shake it off,” he said and added, “I have seen him cry a couple of times.”

Gulshan was last seen in the action-thriller web-series Bad Cop where he played a double role. It also starred Anurag Kashyap in a negative role and was released on Disney+ Hotstar.
