Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion mints Rs 33.72 crore in five days

Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion has managed to collect over Rs 33.72 crore at the box-office in 5 days. Starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, the film is based on the real-life story of India's first Paralympic gold medallist in freestyle swimming, Murlikant Petkar.

The film opened at Rs 5.40 crore at the box-office on Day 1 and witnessed a 45% growth on its Day 2 raking in Rs 7.70 crore on Saturday. The growth remained strong on Day 3 collecting Rs 11.01 crore. After the weekend, it managed to get over Rs 6.01 crore on Day 4 and Rs 3.6 crore on Day 5, making its total collection stand at Rs 33.72 crore.

The film is written by Kabir himself, Sumit Arora, and Sudipto Sarkar, and it stars Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. It is jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan and was released in theatres on June 14.
