

Javed Akhtar took to X on Tuesday to praise Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion and said that it is another feather in the director’s cap. Javed also praised the performance of Kartik Aaryan and said that he was a delightful surprise in the film.
In the X post, Javed wrote, “Watched Chandu Champion. Who would have believed it if it not would have been a 100% true story. Particularly enjoyed the second half. Another feather in Kabir Khan’s cap. Kartik is a delightful surprise in a dramatic role. Vijay Raaz is brilliant. Cinematographer Sudeep Chatterji’s work is mind-blowing. My hats-off to the editor.”
He watched the film at a special screening organised at the office of Excel Entertainment.
Chandu Champion is based on the extraordinary life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medallist in freestyle swimming. The film is written by Kabir himself, Sumit Arora, and Sudipto Sarkar, and it also stars Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav. It is jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan and was released in theatres on June 14.
