Ali Fazal on playing Guddu in Mirzapur: Challenge was to put yourself away and observe the character without judging

Actor Ali Fazal, who will be reprising his role of Govind Pandit aka Guddu Bhaiyya in Mirzapur season 3, recently spoke about the challenges he faces in playing the character.

“It (Mirzapur) is the world that I don't belong to, Guddu is a character I don't belong to, but I have tried to make sense of it,” he said. “You see this story unfold from Guddu’s perspective. I think that was my biggest challenge, to be able to put yourself away from it and look at it and without judging it just observe.”

The release date of the third season of Mirzapur was recently announced by the makers. The Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer directorial will start streaming on Prime Video from July 5.

Apart from Ali, Mirzapur stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal and Vijay Varma. It also features Isha Talwar, Anjumm Shharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheebha Chadha, Meghna Malik and Manu Rishi Chadha, among others.
