It’s time to get back into existential monochrome. The trailer of Kota Factory season 3 was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The series stars Jitendra Kumar as the fan-favourite teacher Jeetu bhaiyya and Mayur More, Ranjan Raj, Alam Khan, Revathi Pillai, Ahsaas Channa and Urvi Singh in the role of students. Rajesh Kumar is also part of the series. This season will also witness the entry of Tillotama Shome as a new chemistry tutor.

The trailer opens with Jeetu bhaiyya sitting at a podcast called “Jeet ki taiyyari” (The preparation to win), where he gives a mic-drop line, “Taiyyari hi jeet hai” (The preparedness is the win). The anxiety of final exams is hovering over the students as they balance life with academics. In the trailer, Jeetu is asked why his name is suffixed with ‘bhaiyya’ and not ‘sir’. He explains that the students coming to Kota are not just IIT aspirants. “At the end of it, they are still teenagers. They get demotivated if their teacher scolds them, they get affected by what their friends say. It is a lot of responsibility to handle them. Something ‘Jeetu sir’ can’t take up.”

Tillotama’s character also reflects on how things have changed in Kota where earlier students were shaped into achievers but now are being “mass produced”. The upcoming season appears to be more jittery as we inch towards the exams which will determine the fate of the characters.

Kota Factory season 3 will stream on Netflix from June 20.

The first season of the show premiered on YouTube in 2019 while the second season streamed on Netflix in 2021. It is directed Raghav Subbu and created by Saurabh Khanna and Arunabh Kumar under The Viral Fever (TVF).
