Amitabh Bachchan to play a cameo in Fakt Purusho Maate

Indian cinema's legendary star Amitabh Bachchan has shot a cameo in the sequel to 2022 hit Gujarati film Fakt Mahilao Maate, titled Fakt Purusho Maate.

It's worth noting that Big B headlined the first film. The actor will be playing a cameo as God in the sequel. This will not be the first time he took up this role, the actor played God in the 2008 Hindi film God Tussi Great Ho.

The film is about a young man with a gift of reading the minds of women and uses it to solve people's relationship problems.

Producer of the film Anand Pandit, according to the Variety, said he could not imagine the project without Amitabh Bachchan. He adds that the shoot took place on June 6 and the set was "awestruck by his energy." Notably, Pandit backed Chehre in 2021, with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi leading the star cast.

Calling Amitabh's role "interesting" , the film's co-producer Vaishal Shah says he is central to the way the story unfolds, Variety reported.

Fakt Purusho Maate, a family drama about gender equality and conflicts between generation, is produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah, written and directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi. The star cast also includes Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara and Darshan Jariwala.

Other upcoming films of Amitabh Bachchan are the magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD, his reunion with actor Rajinikanth, Vettaiyan, and The Umesh Chronicles. The Prabhas-headlined project is slated for a release in June 27, and Rajini's next in October.

Fakt Purusho Maate is planned for a Janmashtami release in the last week of August.
