‘I will follow all that you taught me’: Sanjay Dutt pens heartfelt note to father Sunil Dutt on his birth anniversary

Sanjay Dutt took to his Instagram on Thursday to share photos of his father, veteran actor Sunil Dutt on his birth anniversary. He also wrote a short note in the caption remembering his father and wishing him.

Sanjay shared a photo from his childhood where his father and sister are being seen. In another photo, Sunil Dutt is seen reading a piece of paper as he smiles. In the caption, Sanjay wrote, “Happy birthday dad, I miss you and love you, I have and will follow all that you have taught me, the values, and most of all to be a humble and a good human being who helps the needy, love you dad.”

The father-son duo starred together in Sunil Dutt’s last film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003) directed by Rajkumar Hirani. In a career that spanned over 48 years, Sunil Dutt worked in many films including Ek Hi Raasta (1956), Mother India (1957), Padosan (1968) and Waqt (1965). In 1958, he went on to marry his Mother India co-star Nargis and together they had three children, including Sanjay.

Sunil Dutt passed away at the age of 75 due to a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was a cabinet minister in the union government led by Manmohan Singh. His daughter Priya Dutt fought from his seat and won it.

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt was last seen the Tamil film Leo, starring Vijay Thalapathy. He also had a cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan (2023). He will be seen next in the Kannada film KD-The Devil. The film will be released this year in December.
