Social media influencer Kusha Kapila will soon be seen in Disney+ Hotstar’s series Life Hill Gayi, along with Divyenndu. The show will see Kusha and Divyenndu as two siblings, Dev and Kalki, who are competing to revive their ancestral hotel in Uttarakhand in order to get their family inheritance.

Kusha, who has mostly been making content for social media before this, spoke about her character in the series. “I am playing a South Delhi girl who is blinded by privilege and luxury, so somewhere I get why I was chosen for the role. What I really like about the show is how that character was humanised,” she said. “I don’t think we were able to humanise the characters I played in the short sketches, but when you portray someone on-screen, you cannot be as caricature-ish as you can be in reels. While the initial thought could be inspired by what I have done, the emotional and comedy depth came from the directors and the writers.”

Directed by Prem Mistry and written by Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, the show has been produced by Aarushi Nishank and Himshrri Films. It also stars Vinay Pathak, Mukti Mohan, Kabir Bedi, Bhagyashree, and Aditi Govitrikar, among others. The series will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on August 9.
