Life Hill Gayi Trailer: Divyenndu, Kusha Kapila are siblings competing to restore a dilapidated ancestral hotel

The trailer of Divyenndu and Kusha Kapila’s web-series Life Hill Gayi was released by the makers on Friday. Directed by Prem Mistry and written by Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, the series also stars Vinay Pathak, Kabir Bedi, Bhagyashree, Mukti Mohan and Aditi Govitrikar among others.

The trailer introduces us to Dev and Kalki, two siblings, who are competing to inherit their family’s wealth which brings them to a quaint little town in Uttarakhand. Their grandfather gives them a task to revive an old, dilapidated hotel and bring it back to days of glory. The two fight with each other as they try to improve upon the condition of the hotel and make it more appealing for guests coming to stay. Vinay plays the role of their dad, who has his own quirkier side.

Speaking about his character in the show, Divyenndu said, “Dev believes in living life, king size. While he puts on a brave, know it all face but in reality, he is a vulnerable and affectionate guy. I was looking forward to a story such as this that allows me to tap into both the humorous as well as soft side of me. While on-screen Kusha and I are always quarrelling but off-screen we became each other’s families. Life hill Gayi is a very relatable story of a dysfunctional family and I am sure each member in a family can relate to some or the other character in our series.”

Kusha said in her statement, “Kalki's character is incredibly funny, dynamic, and relatable. From the moment I was introduced to her, I fell in love with her determination, her boss-lady vibe, and her authenticity. The depth of Kalki's character and her world allowed us to explore our creative freedom and play with the quirks. Her relationship with her family is unconventional, but their love is unbreakable.”

She added, “I personally believe families aren't meant to be perfect; their true beauty lies in their imperfections and dysfunction. At the end of the day, we all laugh off our troubles and differences, and that’s what truly matters. Working with Divyenndu as my on-screen sibling and Vinay Pathak sir as my dad has been such a joy because banter comes naturally to all of us and it’s fun.”

Vinay spoke of his character and said, “My character is an unusual yet quintessential father who lives life on his own terms. He's not your typical dad—he's got his own journey, full of quirks that make him relatable and likable. Despite all his idiosyncrasies, you can't help but love him. He faces life's ups and downs with a light-hearted approach and that's a quality that I relish and seek in most of the roles that I play.”

Life Hill Gayi is produced by Aarushi Nishank and Himshrri films and will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on August 9.
