Amitabh Bachchan spoke about the enormous success of his latest release, Kalki 2898 AD, recently and said that the film earning Rs 1000 crore at the box office is an achievement for him. Directed by Nag Ashwin, it also stars Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan.

In a new video shared by the production house, Vyjayanti Films, Amitabh said, “This is for me an achievement, for Prabhas this may be routine because a lot of his films cross this 1000 crore figure, but for me, I am truly indebted and grateful to have been made a part of this huge, concept called Kalki. I really am falling short of words to express how much I have enjoyed the film and for those of you who may not know, I have already seen the film four times. Each time I have discovered something new that I may have missed when I saw it for the first time.”

He felt that the film was more than just an actor’s job for him. He said, “For me, this film has been not just another actor’s job, but it has been a great education in our culture and Indian mythology. How beautifully Nag has brought all of that into the form of a story, made it so credible that it is receiving the support and love of the people.”

He added, “There is another part to the film to bring it to its conclusion and I do look forward to it. I have been asked to be a part of it. My gracious gratitude to all of you who have contributed to making this film such a huge success. I hope it continues to grow in the days and years to come.”

The video features some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot of the film showing the preparations that Amitabh went through for his role in the magnum opus.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film has made an India nett collection of Rs 589.25 crore since its release on June 27. Its global box-office collection stands at Rs 1050 crore. With that, the film has crossed the collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023) and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).
