Abhishek Bachchan to play villain in Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan starrer King?

Abhishek Bachchan will be playing the role of the villain in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming actioner King, as per reports. The film will mark the theatrical debut of Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan and will be helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, with action direction by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand. As per a report in Peeping Moon, now Abhishek Bachchan has been roped in to play the antagonist in the film.

“Abhishek is an actor whose full potential has yet to be fully realized…King presents him in an out-and-out negative role for the first time in such a large-scale commercial movie…The Jr. Bachchan was surprised when he was offered this role but accepted it immediately, intrigued by the depth of his character. It’s a special role, and Siddharth Anand has grand plans to present Abhishek in a manner audiences have never seen before,” a source told Peeping Moon.

Abhishek’s father superstar Amitabh Bachchan also responded to an X user’s post resharing the news and indirectly confirmed the development. “All the best Abhishek .. It is TIME !!!” Amitabh wrote.

SRK and Abhishek have collaborated before on Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and Happy New Year (2014), but this will be the first time they will be going against each other on screen.

King will be produced by Siddharth’s Marflix Pictures along with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
