Akshay Kumar recently reflected on the lessons he took from his late father-in-law, the legendary actor Rajesh Khanna, and how he had seen huge success that was followed by some failures. Akshay said that he doesn’t take success too seriously and believes it is a crown that will be passed around to others.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Akshay said, “I don’t let anything enter my head. I have seen a lot of people fall down; I have heard many stories. My father-in-law has taught me so much, because he saw the biggest success in life and then a complete drop. I have heard stories. What I do is take knowledge from other people, and I realise that these things are just to be kept at a one-hand’s distance. My job is to just keep working.”

He added, “In my career, I have given 16–18 hits continuously, and then continuously, I have given 10–12 flops. I don’t take it seriously. I have known this since the beginning of my career. It is not yours. It is a crown that will be passed on to others. Today, it’s with you; next Friday, it will be with somebody else. Success is an amazing thing, but don’t take it seriously.”

Further, reflecting upon what it takes to be successful, he said, “Success is 70% luck and 30% hard work. I have seen the worst films becoming superhits and the best films becoming flops. That means there is something called luck, and it plays its own game.”

Akshay will be seen next in Sudha Kongara’s Sarfira, which is a Hindi remake of her Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020). Also starring Paresh Rawal and Radhikka Madan, the film is set to be released in theatres on July 12.
