Aamir Khan, who is attending this year’s Wimbledon being held in London, recently spoke about his passion for tennis and how he stopped playing the game on behest of his father.
In a chat, shared by Star Sports India, former tennis player and commentator Vijay Amritraj brought up Aamir’s past with tennis and revealed that the actor was a “very good player in the junior level” and was the Maharashtra State Champion. Aamir said he enjoyed the game but didn’t think he could have made it in it. “I don’t think I could have ever made it to any significant level but I really enjoyed the game so I had a lot of fun while playing it. And then one fine day, my dad decided that I should stop playing so I stopped,” he said. He then added, “Well, I think I am very happy where I am so yeah and good for tennis that I didn’t continue.”
Aamir also stated that this was the second time he was attending Wimbledon. During the conversation, he mentioned that he previously attended the Men’s Final in 2023 with his children Junaid, Ira and Azad.
On the work front, Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). His upcoming film is Sitaare Zameen Par.
Aamir, in the same conversation, said that this was his second time at Wimbledon. He previously attended the Men’s Final in 2023 with his children Junaid, Ira and Azad. Describing it as a “wonderful experience,” Aamir said that he has largely watched tennis on television but recalled attending French Open in person a few years ago.
