Second trailer of Main Atal Hoon out

The second trailer of Pankaj Tripathi-starrer Main Atal Hoon was released by the makers on Tuesday. The biopic of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been written by Utkarsh Naithani and directed by Ravi Jadhav, known for National Award-winning films such as Natarang and Balgandharva.

The trailer opens with Pankaj’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee sitting with an associate in a theatre. He talks about how people believe whatever is shown to them on the big screen. We are then taken through different junctures in the former PM’s life. From Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination to the Emergency to the Pokhran test to the Lahore bus yatra and also the Babri Masjid demolition.

Previously, speaking to PTI, Pankaj had said that doing a biopic is difficult since people have been exposed to the public figure. “When people watch the film, they see whether the actor is doing mimicry or not? Or how has the actor captured the nuances, like mannerisms? I believe it is important to get these outer things correct but what is more important is to understand the person's thoughts and his core personality, and get that correct. As an actor you must tap into it because that's what stays with people,” he said.

Main Atal Hoon is backed by Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan and Kamlesh Bhanushali. It is scheduled to release in theatres on January 19.
