The teaser for Munjya director Aditya Sarpotdar’s upcoming mystery-adventure series The Secrets of The Shiledars was unveiled by the makers on Friday. The series stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sai Tamhankar, and Dilip Prabhavalkar in pivotal roles.
The series blends elements of history to spin a tale about a secret treasure belonging to the Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, hidden in a cave. Rajeev seems to be at the centre of the story, trying to unravel the origins and protect it from wrong hands. He is revealed to be part of a secret society and is appointed as the chief of the Shiledars.
Making the announcement of the series, Aditya wrote on Instagram, “Growing up, I was captivated by stories that combined mystery, adventure and discovery. Films like Indiana Jones and books like The Da Vinci Code shaped my imagination. They taught me that beyond action, these tales carry the thrill of uncovering the unknown and the courage to face the unimaginable.”
He added, “With my next show as a Creator and Director, I aim to channel that same spirit of adventure, crafting a journey that’s not just about where you go, but what you find within. It’s my love letter to the genre that’s inspired me and hopefully a new adventure for all of us to share.”
The series is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from January 31.
