Although Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora never really admitted to being in a relationship, they used to post romantic pictures with each other on social media. Later, rumours came up that the couple have parted ways and last month during a promotional event for Singham Again, Arjun publicly said that he was indeed single.

Now, Malaika has spoken about her relationship status. Admitting her break up with Arjun, she told Times Of India, “I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life which I don’t want to elaborate on much.”

Reacting to Arjun’s decision to publicly announce his break up, the actor said whatever he has said is entirely his decision. She added that she would never choose a public platform to talk about her personal life. Malaika, who also lost her stepfather this year, said that the year has been very trying for her and now she looks forward to move on from everything that transpired in 2024. “I am ready for the New Year and a new start in my life”, she said.

Arjun and Malika started dating in 2018 after the latter’s divorce with Arbaaz Khan. They ended their relationship just before Malaika lost her stepfather but despite the break up, Arjun made sure to be present at the actress’ tough time.

Speaking about being there for his ex-girlfriend at her time of grief, Arjun Kapoor told Raj Shamani in his podcast, “When what happened with dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. And in this case also, there was an instinct and impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad. If I’m invited for the good, I will be there. And if I’m needed for the bad, I will be there. I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends, I’m not doing this for all and sundry. If that person doesn’t want me there, I’ll maintain a distance, as I have in the past.”
