Taapsee Pannu has begun shooting for the revenge-thriller Gandhari, she announced through a social media post on Wednesday. The film is written by Kanika Dhillon (Haseen Dillruba, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba) and directed by Devashish Makhija (Joram, Bhonsle).

Taapsee shared photos from the first day of shoot for the film where she is posing alongside Kanika and Devashish. In the caption, she wrote a prayer in Punjabi, while also putting up the respective English and Hindi translations. It read, “Dear God, grant my request so that I may never deviate from doing good deeds.
That, I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle and with determination I will be victorious.
That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises.
And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle.”

She ended the caption saying, “Let the war begin! Gandhari”.

The makers had earlier shared an announcement video for the film. In the clip, Taapsee’s voiceover states in Hindi, “They say a mother’s blessing is always with you, but when it comes to her child, she becomes Goddess Kali.” It is tentatively scheduled to be released on Netflix next year.

Taapsee was last seen in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba which released earlier this year in August.
