A new promo video for Paatal Lok season 2 was unveiled by the makers recently. In the brief video, Jaideep Ahlawat’s Hathi Ram Chaudhary is seen bloodied, holding on to a gate as he struggles with a mob. “Paatal Lok ke dwar khulne wale hai (The doors to hell are set to open),” he wrote on his Instagram stories while sharing the video.
"When you've walked through hell once, you think you know what to expect," shares Jaideep as per a press release. "But this time, the gates of Paatal Lok open to reveal something far more sinister. Every wound Hathi Ram bears tells a story of sacrifice, of choices that blur the lines between right and wrong. This season isn't just about solving a case – it's about surviving what lies beneath the surface of our society," he added.
The release date of season 2 of the series, however, is still under wraps. The show will see Jaideep and Ishwak Singh reprise their roles.
The first season of Paatal Lok came out in 2020 and was created by Sudip Sharma and directed by Avinash Arun along with Prosit Roy. It traced the story of four killers who were tasked to kill a journalist and also delved into the life of Hathi Ram Chaudhary, a junior cop assigned to the case. The season was inspired by Tarun Tejpal’s book The Story of My Assassins. It also starred Gul Panag, Abhishek Banerjee, Swastika Mukerjee and Neeraj Kabi among others.
