

All We Imagine as Light is on an award-winning spree. The film earned another laurel as it picked up the prestigious Gotham Award in the Best International Feature category. Other nominees in the category included, Green Border, Hard Truths, Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell and Vermiglio. The ceremony was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
Recently, the film earned recognition at the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) held in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. AWIAL received the prestigious Jury Grand Prize.
AWIAL, which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year, had secured the prestigious Grand Prix award at the event, making it a historic win for Indian cinema. The Malayalam-Hindi bilingual drama explores the lives of three women navigating personal and societal challenges in Mumbai, with Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam in the lead roles. The film, which was in top contention in the Best International Feature Film category at the upcoming Oscars, was not chosen as India’s official entry. Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies was chosen instead.
The film is an official Indo-French co-production between Petit Chaos from France and Chalk & Cheese and Another Birth from India. Actor-producer Rana Daggubati's company Spirit Media is distributing the film in the country. AWIAL was given a limited release in Kerala on September 21 and later had its countrywide theatrical release on November 22. Since then, the film has been receiving rave reviews from audiences.
