Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has crossed Rs 500 crore at the global box office, the makers announced on Sunday.

The movie’s production house Maddock Films stated in a X post that the Amar Kaushik’s directorial worldwide gross haul stands at Rs 505 crore, with domestic gross box office at Rs 426 crore and overseas gross box office at Rs 78.5 crore. The film’s India net collection is Rs 361 crore. The makers also claim that the film has the highest second Saturday collection in the history of Hindi cinema at Rs 33.8 crore.

Stree 2 hit the screens on August 15, Independence Day, alongside other titles, including Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa. It is a sequel to 2018's Stree and also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles.

While Stree revolved around a female ghost, who was wronged in her mortal life, its follow-up focuses on a headless villain called 'Sarkata' with a connection to the eponymous character.

The film is part of producer Dinesh Vijan's ambitious horror comedy universe which also includes films such as Bhediya and Munjya.
