Salman Khan and Bhagyashree’s romantic-musical Maine Pyar Kiya will be re-released in theatres on August 23, the makers announced recently. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film had its theatrical release originally on December 29, 1989, making it the 35th anniversary of the film. Considered to be a landmark film for Salman, it turned out to be a commercial hit at the box-office.
The makers shared a glimpse from the film featuring Salman and Bhagyashree to make the announcement. In the caption, they wrote, “It's time to relive their 'Pyar Bhari Dosti' as Maine Pyar Kiya re-releases on 23rd August 2024 in selected PvR pictures and Cinepolis India theaters.”
The film tells the story of Prem and Suman and how they fall in love with each other after transitioning from being friends. Later, they have to battle family differences in order to be together. It also starred Alok Nath, Rajeev Varma, Reema Lagoo and Mohnish Bahl in pivotal roles.
