The teaser of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders was released by the makers on Tuesday. The film is helmed by Hansal Mehta with the screenplay written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker. It also stars celebrity chef turned actor Ranveer Brar in a pivotal role along with Ash Tandon, Assad Raja, Prabhleen Sandhu, Sanjeev Mehra, Adwoa Akoto, Zain Hussain.
The teaser opens up with the mysterious disappearance of a teenager as the voiceover points towards a new detective taking up the case. Kareena plays Detective Sergeant Jasmeet Bhamra in London as she solves a murder case and interrogates various suspects. She has been facing her own inner traumas of losing her 10-year-old child. The teaser has a chilling atmosphere throughout and it ends with an intense exchange that Kareena’s character has with someone as some blood gets splattered on her face.
Earlier, Kareena had shared in a post that she has been a huge fan of detective stories and said, “Jas was a character I have been waiting to play for the last 23 years, being a huge fan of the detective series genre… watching everything from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect to Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie to Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, I was just dying to be that detective woman.”
The film is a Mahana Films and TBM Films production, presented by Balaji Telefilms and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. It will be released in theatres on September 13.
