John Abraham and Sharvari starrer Vedaa witnessed a slow start at the box office. The film faced a three-way clash at the theatres as it released alongside Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein.
At an opening day collection of Rs 6.52 crore, as per Sacnilk.com, the Nikkhil Advani actioner surpassed the first day collection of Akshay Kumar’s comedy Khel Khel Mein (Rs 5 crore) but it was way behind Stree 2 which currently stands at Rs 54.1 crore.
On Thursday, as per Sacnilk.com, Vedaa witnessed an overall Hindi occupancy of 35.63 percent. In Mumbai the occupancy was 37 percent for 415 shows, whereas in Delhi and NCR, with 475 shows, the occupancy witnessed was 41.50 percent.
The film tells the story of Vedaa, a young girl from the underprivileged caste who dares to challenge the status quo. In her fight against injustice, she finds a mentor in John’s Abhimanyu Kanwar, a former soldier. It also stars Abhishek Banerjee as the villain.
Vedaa is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and John Abraham, and co-produced by Minnakshi Das.
