Taha Shah Badussha, who recently made a breakthrough performance as Tajdar Baloch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series debut Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, has entered into a deal to do three films with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, reports Variety. The production banner is known for films such as Bluffmaster!, Taxi No. 9 2 11: Nau Do Gyarah, Dum Maaro Dum, and Nautanki Saala as well as the Raveena Tandon starrer series Aranyak. Rohan Sippy will direct the first film of the three with Badussha. Rohan is known as the director of Bluffmaster!, Nautanki Saala, and Dum Maaro Dum, and the showrunner of Aranyak.
Talking about the deal to Variety, Rohan stated, “Taha brings a unique energy and presence to the screen. I have watched him in ‘Taj’ and ‘Heeramandi’ and his commitment to his craft and his ability to connect with audiences is commendable.”
Meanwhile, Badussha said, “It’s an honor to sign a three-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and it’s an absolute dream to work in a film directed by Rohan Sippy. This opportunity is truly humbling and I’m looking forward to contributing my best to this film. I’m deeply grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me.”
Badussha also appeared as Murad in Taj: Divided by Blood, a series set in the Mughal empire. His upcoming projects include the Marathi film Paro: The Untold Story of Slavery from actor-producer Trupti Bhoir.
