The trailer for Khel Khel Mein, starring an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal, has been released. Directed by Mudassar Aziz (Pati Patni Aur Woh, 2019; Happy Bhag Jayegi, 2016), the film is a Hindi remake of the 2016 comedy Perfect Strangers.

The film, as per the trailer, is about a bunch of couples who, one night, decide to play a game. They all will unlock their mobile phones and put them on the table and each call or message received will be shared with the entire group. Things start taking a hilarious turn as secrets start spilling out. Aditya Seal stammers in front of his wife as he gets a message from a possible mistress. Akshay Kumar gets a call from a call girl. The night becomes more and more awkward as it progresses.

Khel Khel Mein will see Akshay reunite with Taapsee after Mission Mangal (2019). He has worked with Vaani before in Bell Bottom (2021). The film will also mark the big screen return of Fardeen Khan after 14 years.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Shashikant Sinha, and Ajay Rai. It was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on September 6, but the release date was pushed up. It will now release on the big screen on August 15, along with Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 and John Abraham, Sharvari's Vedaa.
