Vedaa trailer: John Abraham and Sharvari pull punches against caste oppression

The trailer for the John Abraham and Sharvari starrer Vedaa was released by the makers on Thursday. The actioner, directed by Nikkhil Advani, also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia.

As per the trailer, the film tells the story of Vedaa, a young girl from the underprivileged caste who dares to challenge the status quo. In her fight against injustice, she finds a mentor in John’s Abhimanyu Kanwar, a former soldier. They team up to fight against Abhishek Banerjee’s character, who seems like a casteist antagonist. The film is set in Rajasthan and the trailer is filled with melee attacks and gunfights.

Talking about the trailer, John said, “I am excited to be part of a film like Vedaa. It’s a story that will resonate with audiences and inspire them to stand up for what is right.”

Nikhil, for whom Vedaa is his 10th directorial, said, “I feel strongly about presenting a film that entertains but also delivers a message, provokes a thought that stays with its audience for a long time after the film ends. I hope Vedaa is that film.”

Vedaa is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and John Abraham, and co-produced by Minnaskshi Das. It will be released in theatres on August 15, clashing at the box office with Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein.
