My parents didn't want me to do films: Aamir Khan

Actor Aamir Khan, who is known for his versatility, has opened up that his parents where opposed to his entry in the film industry.

The actor said during his recent appearance on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' despite his family members being part of the industry, did not want to enter films due to its volatility.

He added his parents wanted him choose a career with 'fewer uncertainties'.

Despite the mounting opposition in his home, Aamir wanted to foray into cinema after working backstage and doing theatre for one and half years.

Aamir Khan has Sitaare Zameen Par up next; he was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official remake of Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks.

He had also backed Laapataa Ladies (2023), helmed by director Kiran Rao, starring Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Srivastav, Pratibha Ranta, Abhay Dubey, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan.
