Alia Bhatt features in the list of TIME’s 100 most influential people

Alia Bhatt made it to the list of TIME’s ‘100 most influential people of 2024’. She made her Hollywood debut in 2023 with director Tom Harper’s Heart of Stone. Along with Alia, actor-director Dev Patel, musician Dua Lipa and filmmaker Sofia Coppola feature in the list among others.

She took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news along with a long note by Harper. In the caption, she wrote, “Honoured to be a part of the #TIME100 @time. Thank you dearest #TomHarper for your kind kind words.” Speaking about her, Harper said, “Alia Bhatt is a formidable talent. She is not only one of the world's leading actors, admired for her work in the Indian film industry for over a decade, she is also a businesswoman and a philanthropist who leads with integrity.”

Adding on his experience of working with Alia on Heart of Stone, he said, “Despite her fame, on set she is self-effacing and funny. There is a grace to the way she goes about her work: focused, open to ideas, and willing to take creative risks. One of my favorite moments in the film came from an improvisation at the end of a take where she took the emotional thread and ran with it.”

He concluded the note saying, “Alia's superpower is her ability to mix movie-star magnetism with authenticity and sensitivity. As an actor she is luminous, and as a person she brings the grounded assurance and creativity that make a truly international star.”

Alia Bhatt’s last Hindi film appearance was in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Ranii Ki Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh. She will be seen next in Vasan Bala’s Jigra which is also co-produced by her.
