Sanjay Leela Bhansali's song from Bajirao Mastani features on Oscars' Instagram page

Deepika Padukone’s dance performance in the song ‘Deewani Mastani’ was shared by The Academy on their Instagram page on Thursday. The song, from the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Bajirao Mastani (2015) was given a tribute by The Academy. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics by Siddharth Garima, it is composed by Bhansali himself. The historical-drama film also starred Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead alongside Deepika.

Sharing the video clip from the song, The Academy wrote, “Deepika Padukone performing "Deewani Mastani" (sung by Shreya Ghoshal) from the movie 'Bajirao Mastani.' Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.” Ranveer Singh added a comment on the post, calling it, “Mesmeric”.

Last year, Deepika gave the introduction for the performance of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR (2022) at the 95^th Academy Awards. She was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan. Her next projects include Singham Again and Kalki 2898 AD.
