Parineeti Chopra shares BTS video from the sets of Amar Singh Chamkila

As Amar Singh Chamkila is all set to premiere on OTT from April 12, actress Parineeti Chopra shared a behind the scenes video of the film's shooting.

The video showed Parineeti preparing her lines, getting her make up done and a scene from Diljit Dosanjh (who plays Amar Singh Chamkila) performing on stage.

The film, which will have a direct Netflix premiere, is based on the Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila who was popular in the 80s. He got the moniker Chamkila - the shining one, due to his unique compositions. He died an untimely death at 27 in 1988 along with his wife Amarjot, who was also a singer, in an assassination attempt at Mehsampur ahead of their performance. They were gunned down by a gang of motorcyclists. The intention behind their assassination remains a mystery to this day and no arrests were made in the case.

Diljit Dosanjh plays the titular Amar Singh Chamkila while Parineeti plays Amarjot Kaur, his second wife.

The film's first single "Ishq Mittaye" was released on February 29 and the second single "Naram Kaalja" was released on March 14.

The film directed by Imtiaz Ali is backed by himself and Mohit Choudhary under the banners Window Seat Films and Select Media Holdings LLP. Amar Singh Chamkila stars Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and Nisha Bano in crucial roles.

The technical team includes music director AR Rahman, cinematographer Sylvester Fonseca and editor Aarti Bajaj.

Amar Singh Chamkila premieres in Netflix on April 12 on the occasion of Baisakhi.
