The trailer of Rahul V Chittella's debut directorial Gulmohar was released by Disney+ Hotstar yesterday. Gulmohar marks the comeback film of Sharmila Tagore and also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, Suraj Sharma, and Amol Parekar in prominent roles.

The trailer of Gulmohar shows the multi-generation Batra family which is set to move out of their 34-year-old ancestral home. This move triggers a re-discovery of the bonds that have held them together while they grapple with personal secrets and insecurities. 

With the film, veteran actor Sharmila is returning after 12 years. She was last seen in the 2010 film Break ke Baad. She will be seen playing the grand matriarch of the Batra family in this film. 

Co-written by Arpita Mukherjee and Rahul, the family drama is based on the director's experiences of having lived and worked in Mira Nair's house in Delhi, which was subsequently sold. Gulmohar will be available for streaming from March 3 on Disney+ Hotstar.
